El Rocio is the place where the statue "Virgen del Rocio" was found many years ago, which is why a church and subsequently a village were built in its place.

 

This place is today an incredibly traditional pilgrimage site.

 

What's special about it? The whole city has sandy streets and squares, fully designed to be visited on horseback; carriages, mules, and oxcarts also support the Andalusian tradition.

 

The Coto Donana National Park is located directly adjacent.
